Cassie Blake was a happy, normal teenage girl - until her mother Amelia dies in what appears to be a tragic accidental fire. Orphaned and deeply saddened, Cassie moves in with her warm and loving grandmother Jane in the beautiful small town of Chance Harbor, Washington - the town her mother left so many years before - where the residents seem to know more about Cassie than she does about herself. As Cassie gets to know her high school classmates, she soon discovers that she is unwittingly a part of a Secret Circle of witches that, together, have powers she never could've imagined. CASSIE'S PAST COMES BACK TO HAUNT HER " Cassie(Britt Robertson) is stunned when a notoriously evil figure from her past showsup on her doorstep (guest star Joe Lando, Dr. Quinn MedicineWoman). However, her surprise quickly turns to suspicion when he asksher to return the medallion she found in the wreckage of the fire that killedtheir parents. Cassie storms off but is captured by Eben and his band ofwitch hunters. Jake (Chris Zylka) offers to trade himself for Cassiesfreedom and when Adam (Thomas Dekker) realizes theyre in trouble he calls theCircle. Meanwhile, Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) and Diana (Shelley Hennig) are concerned when Melissa starts spending more timewith Callum (guest star Michael Graziadei). Gale Harold and NatashaHenstridge also star. FAYES QUEST FOR POWER THREATENS THE CIRCLE " Cassie (Britt Robertson) asks Adam (Thomas Dekker)for help when she wants to look into her fathers past, and their search leadsthem to an eerily familiar place. It also rekindles an old flame whenAdam, thrilled to be spending time with Cassie again, asks her to the Fire andIce dance. But because of her friendship with Diana (Shelley Hennig) Cassie isforced to give a surprising response. In an effort to be a better father,Ethan (Adam Harrington) offers tochaperone the dance, much to Adam's dismay. Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) asks Lee(guest star Grey Damon) to help her with a spell that would grant herindividual magic. Unfortunately, thespell has some terrifying side effects that nearly destroy the Circle. Jessica Parker Kennedy also stars.
